Full cosmetic rehabilitation: bridge, composites and whitening

A patient came to Centre Dentaire Marina with damaged front teeth, wanting to improve her smile.

After a full diagnosis and the drawing up of a personalised treatment plan, comprehensive care was carried out.

It began with a periodontal debridement phase, including scaling and root planing, to ensure a healthy environment before starting treatment.

At the back of the mouth, an old, poorly fitting bridge was replaced with a zirconia bridge, offering strength, biocompatibility and a natural appearance.

A crown was also made to restore a weakened tooth for the long term.

Cosmetically, the front teeth were restored using layered composites, correcting their shape, improving alignment and bringing harmony back to the smile while remaining conservative.

Tooth whitening completed the treatment, lightening the shade and enhancing the final result.

Thanks to this comprehensive approach, combining periodontal, prosthetic and cosmetic care, the patient was able to regain a natural, balanced and functional smile that fully met her expectations.

You too can consider comprehensive care to improve your smile, restore your chewing function and protect your oral health.

Internal tooth whitening

After root canal treatment, it is not unusual for a tooth to darken gradually and take on a greyish shade, different from its neighbours. Internal whitening can often restore a shade close to the original one, without resorting to a veneer or a crown.

How internal whitening works

Unlike conventional whitening, which acts from the outside of the tooth, internal whitening involves placing a whitening agent inside the root-treated tooth, in the pulp chamber, which has first been cleaned and sealed. It is a targeted technique, reserved for teeth that have already had root canal treatment.

What results to expect

The outcome depends on several factors specific to each patient: the discolouration being treated, how long it has been present and the initial colour of the tooth. In the great majority of cases the results are very satisfying and are visible from the very first session.
The result depends on the individual patient — a first appointment allows the discolouration to be assessed and the expected result estimated.

Maintaining the result over time

To preserve the lightening achieved, top-up sessions may be offered if the clinician judges them necessary, particularly if the tooth tends to grey again over time.

Why choose this approach?

  • it avoids sacrificing healthy tooth structure, unlike a veneer or a crown;
  • treatment is targeted on the single tooth concerned;
  • the result is visible from the first session;
  • it is a lasting solution, with simple maintenance if needed.
